Welcome

to the Living Word Lutheran Church website. We pray that God may bless this opportunity to hear about your Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is your Savior. He has redeemed you, a lost and condemned person, purchased and won you from all sin, from death, and from the power of the devil, not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and His innocent suffering and death.

To hear more about how Christ saved you from sin, death and the devil, come join us Sunday mornings or contact Pastor Timothy Wheaton.  His contact information is on the left. Also, feel free to look through this website for more information on our church.

Who are we … We are Living Word because God’s word is living and powerful, able to create faith in sinful and rebellious hearts. It has the power to make those who are spiritually dead alive in Christ. Nothing else on earth has the power to do this.

Hebrews 4:12  “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.”

We are Lutheran… because we believe and teach the beautiful Biblical principles reclaimed in the Lutheran Reformation: we are saved by grace alone, by faith alone, by Scripture alone. Also, because we confess the creeds of the Lutheran Church without qualification as they are found in the Book of Concord 1580.

Grace alone… Grace is undeserved love. Because of our sin we deserve death and hell, but God in His love for us gives us forgiveness and heaven.

Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Faith Alone… The way we receive this gift of forgiveness and eternal life is through faith in Christ Jesus.

John 3:18  “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Scripture Alone… The only way we can know of God and His will for us is through God’s word -the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16  “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

We are a Church because… Matthew 18:20  “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

We are a Member of the CLC…which stands for the Church of the Lutheran Confession. For more information visit http://clclutheran.org/

Weekly Sermon

Pastor T.B. Wheaton, April 21, 2019

Easter Is The Dead End Of Death.

In fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:20-28, ESV)
