Welcome

to the Living Word Lutheran Church website. We pray that God may bless this opportunity to hear about your Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is your Savior. He has redeemed you, a lost and condemned person, purchased and won you from all sin, from death, and from the power of the devil, not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and His innocent suffering and death.

To hear more about how Christ saved you from sin, death and the devil, come join us Sunday mornings or contact Pastor Timothy Wheaton.  His contact information is on the left. Also, feel free to look through this website for more information on our church.

Who are we … We are Living Word because God’s word is living and powerful, able to create faith in sinful and rebellious hearts. It has the power to make those who are spiritually dead alive in Christ. Nothing else on earth has the power to do this.

Hebrews 4:12  “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.”

We are Lutheran… because we believe and teach the beautiful Biblical principles reclaimed in the Lutheran Reformation: we are saved by grace alone, by faith alone, by Scripture alone. Also, because we confess the creeds of the Lutheran Church without qualification as they are found in the Book of Concord 1580.

Grace alone… Grace is undeserved love. Because of our sin we deserve death and hell, but God in His love for us gives us forgiveness and heaven.

Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Faith Alone… The way we receive this gift of forgiveness and eternal life is through faith in Christ Jesus.

John 3:18  “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Scripture Alone… The only way we can know of God and His will for us is through God’s word -the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16  “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

We are a Church because… Matthew 18:20  “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

We are a Member of the CLC…which stands for the Church of the Lutheran Confession. For more information visit http://clclutheran.org/

Weekly Sermon

Pastor T.B. Wheaton, May 20, 2018

Pentecost Means A Spiritual Change From Profaning The Name Of God To Being The People Of God.

“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23 And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. 24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. (Ezekiel 36:22-28, ESV)
